2025 so far and goals for the year
So far so good! Arthur's Knitting Business has had a positive start to the year, 5 days in and 7 Etsy orders so far and 1 from my website which brings me to topic number one. In 2024 I re-branded several times but always focused on the logo, as time went on I wen to add a belly band for the boxes and eventually added yarn bands but throughout all of this, I created an identity brand. So I have updated my website to better represent the brand but also make it crystal clear as to what Arthur's Knitting Business is all about, and that is; making knitting accessible and affordable and not to toot my own horn but I am in love with it!
My goals for this year are going to obviously based around sales like every business but it is also to focus on the accessibility of knitting which means creating more free resources for those who want to learn to knit. I want to start by creating a form of accountability tracker, I have no idea what that will look like at this moment but I will let you know as soon as I do.
My biggest accessibility goal however is to make more Left handed tutorials to go onto my YouTube channel.
Regarding sales I want to focus on making more through my website now I have the abilities to take them again. I lowered my wix subscription because I wasn't dedicating enough time to making my website stronger but now that my Etsy shop is stronger than it was, I am dedicating more time to it. I'm thinking 5 sales a month to start with but feel like this might be too big a goal however, go big or go home! Plus a goal needs to be challenging!
Workshops are my next focus. I need to market them better and make it more clear as to what is involved. My workshops are based in Witney, Oxfordshire so I will need to find better advertising platforms and perhaps aim them for adults and children as my teaching degree is secondary education so feel comfortable teaching young people.
I am rubbish at social media. I have a Facebook page, group, instagram page and a TikTok that I have not touched for months. I am going to focus on just Instgram and Facebook. Although lots of business owners suggest to have just one platform as their main hub, I love the layout and function of instagram as well as having a Facebook group where I have help people directly so I want to keep both. I always put a social media schedule together but I NEVER stick to it and I am just terrible at making reels that catch attention so am focusing on making my Instagram and Facebook an educational platform more than just sales and personal advertisement. Near the end of 2024 I started to create my posts in bulk which was extremely helpful so am going to keep doing that so I can post daily and grow my followers. I know how to use hashtags but I still don't know how to get my account in front of the right eyes....
I'm going to focus less on product creation and more on product marketing as what I have is proving successful so need to get it in front of the right people!
So here's a summary of my goals for 2025:
Make 5 website sales a month
Make more free and accessible resources
Run at least 6 workshops
Increase my Etsy sales by 30%
Focus more on advertising and marketing
Gain a total of 5000 followers on Instagram
Gain a total of 100 members in Arthur's Knitting Group (Facebook group)
Here is to a happy and healthy 2025! What goals have you set for yourself this year?
