The tools and materials you will need to follow this pattern are:
* 4mm knitting needles (I recomend 25cm in length)
* Double knit yarn, acrylic yarn is a great yarn to start with as it is available in a variety of colours and it is hardwearing. Most acrylic yarn can be washed at 40degrees and tumble dries
* You don't need stitch markers but they can be very helpful to identify specific parts of a pattern
